2 Lariats

I love the flexibility and look of lariat style necklaces. I also sometimes prefer a shorter necklace that is delicate and hangs against the skin above the neckline of what you are wearing. Two chains hang in front and one is looped through the ring of the other so that the length is adjustable in front.

I have been working out ideas for clasped lariat necklaces for several days. I work out my ideas with practice wire and sketches. Today, I finally cut into the silver chain and wire. I hand-made the sterling silver clasps and gently hammered them for subtle shape.

The first lariat necklace is about 20 inches long, Sterling Silver, and it has two faceted Garnets (the larger one is 10 mm) that hang in the front and one small faceted Garnet at the clasp end.

Today's second necklace is 17 inches long and made of Sterling Silver. The Fresh-water coin Pearl with two tiny Moonstones hangs just at the collar bone, and the other chain with the Rose Quartz stone and Moonstones hangs just below the collar bone. There are three Moonstones at the clasp.

I was going through a box of unfinished projects and found this chain maille bracelet I made a long time ago. I had run out of silver wire and never finished it. I had some silver clasps I had made in another box and quickly hooked on one and it was done!
